Pep Guardiola has been asked about Kevin De Bruyne’s Manchester City future amid speculation Inter Miami are eyeing a free transfer in the summer.
Injuries have badly disrupted Kevin De Bruyne’s season but it’s no coincidence that Manchester City got back to winning ways when he returned to the starting XI.
City hadn’t won in seven games but defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Wednesday, with De Bruyne picking up a goal and an assist.
The brilliant Belgian’s contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in 2025 and there has been little indication yet on whether he will sign a new deal with the club.
Pep Guardiola shared ahead of Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace that he wishes he could have had De Bruyne back as a 23-year-old and signed up for a decade.

Pep Guardiola asked about Kevin De Bruyne’s future
After making his long-awaited return to the starting XI, Guardiola was first asked about De Bruyne’s condition before talk turned towards his contract.

“We don’t have many players, but it’s important he’s back,” the Blues boss said.
“A long time and every three days, we will see how does he react with this amount of games.
“I don’t know, I’m not involved with that,” he replied when asked about talks between the club and the player.
“I would like to have him at 23-years-old and sign a contract for 10 more years. This is what I would like. But we will see.”
When then asked about how hard it would be to find another 23-year-old who could be as good and potentially replace De Bruyne, Guardiola added: “There are players whose impact and legacy at Man City will be eternal, will be forever.
“It’s not easy, but we have as a club, we have to find, in the moment that it’s going to happen, we have to find the best way.”
Inter Miami make Kevin De Bruyne their top transfer target
A report from the Daily Mirror on Thursday claimed that David Beckham’s Inter Miami have made De Bruyne the club’s ‘primary transfer target.’
Miami are already well-stocked with legends as they have Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba on the books but it’s reported the MLS club are ‘growing increasingly confident’ of signing De Bruyne.
The 33-year-old will be free to begin pre-contract agreement talks with foreign clubs once he enters the last six months of his current deal in January.
However, clubs from Saudi Arabia are also said to be interested.
