'Definitely': Arne Slot admits there's one thing Everton do that his Liverpool side need to be…

A massively important game awaits Everton on Saturday afternoon when Liverpool make the short trip across Stanley Park.

Sean Dyche and his men were able to relieve some of the pressure on Wednesday night with a convincing victory over Wolves.

The Toffees were able to create a five-point gap on the bottom three with the win ahead of the Merseyside Derby this weekend.

Storm Darragh has the Merseyside Derby at risk of postponement with a strong weather front hitting the north west.

But Everton will need to be focused on getting something out of this game on Saturday given their difficult run of fixtures ahead of them.

And it seems as if they’ve been doing something under Dyche which the Liverpool manager is fairly wary of.

What Liverpool’s Arne Slot said Everton do really well

Some Everton fans are concerned about Michael Oliver’s appointment for the game on Saturday due to his history in the fixture.

However, speaking to the media on Friday afternoon, Arne Slot has admitted Everton’s set pieces are something which Liverpool need to be wary of.

“Everton aren’t the only team who try to block keepers or the best headers, five or six years ago, hardly anyone spoke about set-pieces and now everyone speaks about the importance of them and Everton definitely can but we have players who can score from them too,” he said.

“Big games, City, Arsenal, Chelsea…the main thing was set-pieces, so this is a part of this game too.”

Slot has shared Liverpool’s weakness following their draw against Newcastle United on Wednesday night up on Tyneside.

And Virgil van Dijk was shocked to hear what Everton fans had sung during a previous Merseyside Derby with the Liverpool captain looking to earn some payback.

Everton scored from four set pieces vs Wolves

Slot has every right to be wary of Everton’s ability to score from a set piece following what he will have seen on Wednesday night.

Having netted four times against Gary O’Neil’s side, Everton showed their dominance through deadball situations with Dwight McNeil impressing Martin Keown with his crossing.

However, there is plenty Everton are going to need to be cautious of if they are going to get anything out of the game against the league leaders.

And given this is the final Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park, the home fans are going to be well up for the occasion.
