Enzo Maresca gives Chelsea green light to sell shock star in January window

CHELSEA are reportedly open to selling Axel Disasi in the January transfer window despite him breaking back into Enzo Maresca’s starting XI, it has been sensationally claimed in the media today.

The 26-year-old centre-back joined the club from Monaco for around £35 million in 2023 but has struggled to make an impact. Disasi has been criticised for lacking spatial awareness and failing to read danger, and he has looked very dodgy in possession at times.

However – he has managed to break into the side under Enzo Maresca this season and has looked like a solid addition to that back-line, but it seems that he is still a player that Maresca is open to letting go when the January transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time.

TEAMtalk understands that Disasi is at risk of being sold by the board as he is seen as ‘limited’ by some behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge. And Sources say there is no ‘major calls’ for Disasi to be sold but Chelsea are willing to offload him in order to add some more talent to their back line.

The reports adds that the defender could be open to leaving in January too, as Disasi is keen to play more regular football, and Napoli could offer him the chance. The French defender is a talented player and could be a valuable addition to Napoli’s squad, it has been claimed.
