Arsenal, City and Liverpool all handed with major blow

Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool are all interested to sign Adam Wharton. But, all of these Premier League giants have been handed with a major blow ahead of the january transfer window.

Adam Wharton has been very good since he joined Crystal Palace in February. He quickly became regular starter at such a young age and was even called by Gareth Southgate to represent England in Euro 2024.

Wharton is 20 years old and can play as a central midfielder or as a holding midfielder. He is being looked upon by many top clubs out of which most are English. Palace view Wharton as a key player but will feel powerless to hold him if any top club comes knocking for him.

Arsenal, City and Liverpool receive major blow in pursuit of Wharton

Wharton has been tied to Palace with a contract running until 2029. It is sure that any club who wants to sign him will have to pay a hefty fee. But, Palace still don’t want to lose him at such a critical stage of season.

Now TBR Football have reported that any interested club will have to wait until summer in order to sign Wharton. The report adds that Wharton is very happy at Palace and is in no rush to leave Selhurst Park mid-season.

This will come as a major boost for Palace who are avoiding relegation zone with fine margin. They are on the 17th position and have just 3 points more than Ipswich Town who are in relegation zone.

Despite the 20 year old turning down January move, Palace will very likely lose him in summer. Wharton looks like a next big name in English football and hence will want to join a club who plays European competitions.

Live Updates

Wharton is currently sidelined with groin injury. Palace boss recently said that Wharton will be back in training after Ipswich game which Palace won recently. The 20 year old can now be back on the pitch against Brighton on 15th December. Before that game, Palace will have to face Man City at Selhurst Park tomorrow.
