Maite Oroz is in contention to feature in Sunday’s Barclays Women’s Super League clash at home to Everton.
The Spain international, who joined the Club in the summer from Real Madrid, picked up an injury in the defeat to Liverpool in October, resulting in her missing the last six games in all competitions, but she returned to training over the international break.
Following a positive two weeks on the grass, Robert Vilahamn revealed that the midfielder is available for selection this weekend’s encounter at Brisbane Road.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Robert confirmed: “Maite is back in training and is available for the squad on Sunday.”
Asked again later about Maite, he added: “She has trained so well for the last two weeks and she looks sharp, so she will be a big benefit for us now and, after Christmas, she will be brilliant – I can promise you that.”
Having missed our previous outing against Aston Villa in the Women's League Cup, defender Luana Bühler remains a doubt for Sunday’s clash against Everton.
“Luana had a knock but she’s back on the grass and is taking steps, so we will see if she’s ready or not for Sunday, we will have to wait and see tomorrow,” he told the media.
“There’s a bit of a sickness going on but, hopefully, everyone one else will be able to train tomorrow.”
Ella Morris will join Kit Graham on the sidelines after she suffered a Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) injury with England Under-23s and will be sidelined for a number of weeks.
