Liverpool team news v Everton
Liverpool will be without Alexis Mac Allister, who picked up a fifth yellow card of the season in the Newcastle draw.
Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley and Kostas Tsimikas remain out, while Alisson Becker, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota are still building up their fitness levels.
As for Everton, Michael Keane is a doubt due to a knee injury, while Tim Iroegbunam, James Garner and Youssef Chermiti remain unavailable.
Trent Alexander-Arnold tipped to return to Liverpool XI as Darwin Nunez likely to drop out
Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to continue in the Reds goal as Alisson continues to build up his fitness.
The Republic of Ireland international will be eager to refocus and make amends for a rare poor display in the draw on Tyneside.
Likewise, the back four is unlikely to see many changes due to injury, though Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to return to the XI.
Slot’s decision to drop Alexander-Arnold was slated by some pundits as he impressed when he came on, providing two assists for Mohamed Salah.
However, his reduced workload in midweek means he should be fresher for Saturday’s Merseyside derby.
There’s an enforced change in midfield due to Mac Allister’s controversial midweek booking.
Curtis Jones could drop deeper to play alongside Ryan Gravenberch, while Dominik Szoboszlai is likely to play further up.
As for the front line, Slot may well decide to drop Darwin Nunez in wake of an ineffective display against Newcastle.
Luis Diaz could replace the £64million striker, while Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo should retain their places on the flanks.
