Microsoft has officially ceased production of the Surface Studio 2+, the company's premium all-in-one desktop PC. The company confirmed that it will not restock the device once the current inventory is depleted.
"Customers can continue to purchase Surface Studio 2+ through retailers and partners with stock. For areas reaching out of stock, Surface Studio 2+ will no longer be available for new purchases.", a Microsoft spokesperson stated, as reported by Windows Central.
The Surface Studio 2+ was priced starting at $4,500 at the launch.
This decision is in line with Microsoft's recent efforts to streamline its Surface portfolio. In 2023, the company discontinued other products, such as the Surface Duo 3 and Surface Earbuds 2.
The discontinuation of the Surface Studio line may create a gap in the Windows all-in-one PC market. Other manufacturers like HP and Lenovo offer all-in-one solutions, but none currently match the Surface Studio's specific feature set.
Going forward, Microsoft's Surface lineup will focus on mainstream products like the Surface Pro, Surface Laptop, Surface Laptop Go, and Surface Laptop Studio, which are popular with consumers and businesses. These devices will get updates in 2025, including new processors and better AI features.
Customers interested in purchasing a Surface Studio 2+ should act quickly.
