Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe faced the media ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brentford in the Premier League.
Howe is looking to carry the momentum from Newcastle’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Liverpool on Wednesday as they venture to the capital.
It won’t be an easy test for Newcastle with Brentford unbeaten at home this season winning six of their seven games at the Gtech Community Stadium so despite the good result at St James’ Park Howe’s side are without a win in their last three Premier League games.
The Magpies did do the double over the Bees last season including a 4-2 win away in May, something which will surely give Howe’s side a morale boost ahead of Saturday.
However, Newcastle could still be without one of their key assets for the trip having missed Wednesday’s draw at St James’ Park.

Kieran Trippier remains a doubt for Newcastle United’s Brentford trip
Kieran Trippier missed the draw to Liverpool with illness, when asked about it after the game Howe didn’t give the extent of the problem away.
The £12m man came up in Friday’s pre-match press conference, Howe said: “He’s improving, we’ll see (if he’s available) today.”

Trippier had a spell on the sidelines earlier this season due to a thigh problem. These problems have limited the ex-England international to just six appearances in the Premier League this season as the void is filled by Tino Livramento.
Rumours about his future have persisted since summer with Trippier reportedly asking to leave Newcastle in the summer in favour of a move to Turkey. The move never materialised and Trippier remains at the club, it remains to be seen whether he will be moved on in the January transfer window.
Which other Newcastle United players are missing through injury?
Newcastle are still without several first-team players as they enter the busiest stage of the season. The Magpies have seven games in the next month including a Carabao Cup quarter-final at home to Saturday’s opponents Brentford so having depth is key for Howe.
Sandro Tonali reportedly finished Wednesday’s game with cramp while Anthony Gordon is suffering from fatigue.
Defender Emil Krafth looks to be out for the foreseeable as he recovers from a broken collarbone.
Newcastle will soon have Sven Botman back even though Howe admitted he was still “a few weeks away”. The Dutchman has begun participating in 11vs11 games in training as he fights for fitness after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in March.
Jamaal Lascelles remains some way off from returning despite being spotted in first-team training. Lascelles has been linked with a move to Wolves in January but may not be back before the window shuts.
