Pep Guardiola reacts angrily to Liverpool fan after Manchester City defeat

Pep Guardiola reacted angrily after he was goaded following Manchester City’s defeat in May

A video of Pep Guardiola reacting angrily to a man who goaded him after a Manchester City defeat went viral on social media on Friday afternoon.

In the 24-second clip, Guardiola is seen walking along a street in Manchester city centre wearing a dark grey suit and black tie and was accompanied by his son Marius and another man.

As Guardiola walked past the camera, a man with a Scouse accent who was filming the City manager said: ‘Nah, mate, just because you lost.’

Guardiola then turned around to the man filming and attempted to approach him before he was held back by his son and the other man he was walking with.

As he was being led away from the confrontation, Guardiola turned and said: ‘Do you know what is lost? Do you know what is lost? You want me to sign you?’

A third man who was holding a pen and a book said: ‘Pep, please, I didn’t say that.’

The man filming who initially goaded Guardiola then said: ‘No, it’s fine.’

The clip was shared on Friday afternoon with many believing that the confrontation was filmed after City’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last Sunday.

However, it’s understood that the clip was originally filmed after City’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup final in May.

Guardiola’s suit and tie in the footage matches what he wore at Wembley for City’s final against United on May 25 earlier this year.

City’s defeat to Liverpool last weekend extended their run to seven games without a win. During the game, Guardiola responded to taunts from the home supporters at Anfield by holding up six fingers in reference to how many Premier League titles he has won.

The Premier League champions ended their winless on Wednesday with a 3-0 victory at home to Nottingham Forest.

City currently sit fourth in the Premier League table and are nine points behind leaders Liverpool.

Guardiola’s side play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
