One of the biggest talking points ahead of Barcelona’s _La Liga_ trip to Real Betis on Saturday is the reunion between the _Blaugrana_ and Vitor Roque, who faces his parent club for the first time since leaving Barça on loan in the summer after a very turbulent six-month stint in Catalonia earlier this year.
Roque has talked a lot about his time at Barça [and did so once again this week](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/12/6/24314698/vitor-roque-gunning-for-barcelona-as-loanee-admits-clash-will-be-special-match), and there’s no doubt he’ll be very motivated to play his best football and find the net. Hansi Flick was asked about the _Tigrinho_ in a press confidence on Friday, and the coach says he’s happy to see the player doing well after deciding to leave.
> “I’m not worried, I trust my players. Every team has good players, the same with Betis. We have to defend as well as possible. He’s doing very well and he’s improving. We realised that when he arrived he wasn’t in the best situation. I spoke to him and he wasn’t entirely happy, it was the best decision for him. It’s great for him that he feels better and is more positive.”
It doesn’t seem like Vitor Roque has much of a future at Barça given just how tense the situation became, but the club still needs him to do well so they can profit on a future sale. It’ll be fascinating to see how well he plays, if he’ll score a goal and whether or not he’ll celebrate, and there’s no doubt this subplot makes an already special match between two teams who always play great games against each other even more interesting.
He’s gonna score against us, isn’t he?
