European giants planning to lure Enzo Maresca’s favourite away

Two European clubs are planning to lure Benoit Badiashile away from Chelsea. The 23 year old French defender is very highly rated by current boss Enzo Maresca. But, it will not be enough to keep Badiashile’s future secure at West London.

Benoit Badiashile joined the Blues in January 2022 as a promising young talent. He had a very great half season before injuries spoiled his Chelsea career so far. Badiashile eventually fell down the pecking order and now rarely starts.

This season, Badiashile has played 11 games but has only started 1 Premier League game. He is not the first choice defender anymore but Enzo Maresca still considers him a key asset.

Will Benoit Badiashile leave Chelsea next year?

Despite the Italian boss rating Badiashile highly, the 23 year old is constantly linked with an away move. It seems like Chelsea will move on from him as they have many options in that position. In addition, they are very likely to sign more defenders next year.

Before signing new players, the Blues will have to part ways with some exisiting stars. Colwill and Fofana are starting regularly so they are in safe cateogary. This means Badiashile and Disasi are on the chopping list.

A move away from Stamford Bridge will also help Badiashile. He is 23 years old and will enter peak of his career. At this time he will want to play regularly and hence can be open to move. But, earlier Badiashile said that he wants to stay at Chelsea and hence his transfer saga will be interesting to watch next year.

2 European clubs keen to sign Badiashile

As per CaughtOffside, Marseille and Juventus have shown interest in signing Badiashile. The report adds that Marseille have already held some initial talks for the signing of 23 year old and hence have lead in the race.

Badiashile may agree to move back to France where he came into attention for first time. This will be perfect opportunity for him to revive his career. He will directly get into the team as a regular starter.

On the other hand, Juventus are desperate to improve their defence in January itself. Bremer and Cabal who are their main defender have faced serious injuries and are out for full season. Hence, they may come strong for Badiashile in the coming months.

Live Updates

Wesley Fofana will be out of the squad until early January. He can make return in mid January if everything goes as per plans. This will now present with important opportunity for players like Badiashile, Disasi and Adarabioyo to receive more game time.
