Ipswich Borough Council granted the Ipswich and Suffolk Club in Northgate Street permission sell booze early.
The club has also been granted an off licence but under certain conditions.
It follows the granting of licences to sell alcohol from 8am to a number of pubs and bars around Ipswich town centre, including, Mannings, the Station Hotel and the Halberd Inn, although these establishments were only granted their licence to sell alcohol from that time on the day of Ipswich Town home games at Portman Road.

However, the council imposed a condition on the licence - that being alcohol may only be purchased for taking off the premises during pre-booked events which will be limited to 150 people.
CCTV must be recorded and stored for up to 31 days and a 'challenge 25' scheme implemented to ensure no underage drinking takes place, Ipswich Borough Council said in its decision to approve selling alcohol from 8am.
The Ipswich and Suffolk Club operates outside of the centuries-old Archdeacon's House in Northgate Street and has done so since 1885.

The club has more than 500 members, offering hubs and clubs such as bridge, snooker and golf.
