[AreaNapoli](https://www.areanapoli.it/calciomercato/khusanov-jorge-mendes-gli-cerca-squadra-lo-portera-via-dal-lens_573776.html) journalist Gianluca Vitale has an interesting exclusive on Friday afternoon, regarding a Lens defender.
Abdukodir Khusanov arrived at the French club in 2023 from FC Energetik-BGU Minsk. Unsurprisingly, that was a relatively cheap transfer, with the central defender costing only €100k. He’s gone on to shine for the Ligue 1 side, and this season the 20-year-old is a regular starter for Lens.
Jorge Mendes is said to have been given a mandate to sell Khusanov, and it’s claimed he’s already contacted both Wolves and Newcastle United.
Mendes has been in contact with all of Wolves, Newcastle, PSG, Napoli and Real Madrid. Lens want to profit quickly and the Mendes plan is presented as him moving in the next window.
According to AreaNapoli, the asking price is €20-25m and Mendes would get around 10%.
That seems on the high side.
There’s only a small window of football to judge Khusanov on, and in the biggest match he’s played this season, against PSG, he was sent off before the hour mark.
Wolves and Newcastle United may be ready to listen to what Mendes has to propose, but unless there’s favours owed then it’s unlikely they’d be eager to pay €20-25m.
