'He's Speaking As A Champion' 'The Race Isn't Over Yet' Fans React As City Ace Makes Bullish Title Claim

Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku has boldly stated that his team are not giving up the battle to retain their Premier League crown.

The reigning champions got back to winning ways against Nottingham Forest, closing the gap to leaders Liverpool to nine points and, speaking after the match, Doku said:

“They can say whatever they want. We just stay in our bubble and we’re still in December. If they think it’s over, let them think it’s over. We are going to look game by game, try to win as much as possible, and we will see at the end.”

The race isn’t over yet

I am not afraid of any team. I am only scared of what we do on the pitch. Once we get our groove back, we will go for the kill. We are our own biggest rival.

Come on City 💪🏽💙

We will be cruising nicely when other teams form drops. We are through the worst form.

There are still 24 games to go

As Doku mentions, we are only at the start of December and there are plenty of points left to play for.

Of course, City have struggled in recent weeks but, if they can put a run of wins together, things could look a lot different in the New Year.

The statisticians remain pessimistic about City’s chances

Opta’s predicted table currently has Pep Guardiola’s side finishing in 3rd place, with just a 5.55% probability of winning the title.

Despite dropping points against Newcastle, Liverpool are still firm favourites (80.89%), with Arsenal in 2nd (12.5%) and Chelsea in 4th (1.04%).
