PlayStation has unveiled its official Christmas gift guide to give head-scratching folk some ideas of what to buy their console-loving family members.

If you’re stuck for ideas for what to get the gamer in your life, Sony reckons remote players, elite wireless headsets and new controllers are the way forward.

And for the younger ones in the family, Lego and platforming games are a great idea.

Even those without a PlayStation console have options, with Sony suggesting its new crossover PC titles as a virtual stocking filler for the big day.

A spokesman said: “As the holiday shopping season approaches, Sony Interactive Entertainment releases its 2024 PlayStation Holiday Gift Guide filled with the latest range of products for gift-givers this holiday season.

"New this year to the holiday lineup are two family-friendly adventure games for the PS5: Astro Bot, a supersized space adventure featuring an adorable robotic hero trying to rescue his stranded crew and rebuild the PlayStation 5 mothership; and Lego Horizon Adventures, a playful and light-hearted story inspired by the events of the first chapter in the Horizon series.

“PC gamers can explore even more game experiences from PlayStation Studios this year, including God of War Ragnarök, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, and Helldivers 2.

“Another top holiday title available this year is Until Dawn, the genre-defining horror adventure rebuilt from the ground up for the PS5 console and PC.”

After access to PS5 machines in their first few years of life was difficult, due to manufacturing issues, the firm has assured fans the console is now “widely available” ahead of Christmas.

And with the new PS5 Pro in stores too, there’s more than one option for gamers.

The spokesman continued: “Members of the game subscription service, PlayStation Plus, can find a diverse range of popular titles to play from the Extra and Premium tier offering, including popular hits like The Last of Us Part I, Monster Hunter Rise, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Among the latest accessories the firm is pushing for the holiday season are new DualSense Controller colours and the PlayStation Portal remote player, a portable screen that lets you stream PS5 gameplay over wi-fi.

There’s also PS VR2, the company’s flagship virtual reality headset, and the Elite wireless gaming headset for professional in-game sound.
