Leeds United will fear the financial implications of Jack Harrison returning as Everton look unlikely to sign him on a permanent deal.

The 28-year-old is on his second loan spell at Goodison Park after leaving the Whites when they were relegated to the Championship.

Under Sean Dyche, the Englishman has been a regular, making 50 appearances across all competitions since joining the Toffees.

Despite this, a permanent move to Merseyside looks in doubt which could point towards an Elland Road return, which may be feared by the hierarchy in West Yorkshire.

The prospective new owners at Everton may not want to sign the winger permanently but could look to sign “bigger names going forward” [Graeme Bailey].

This comes despite Leeds and the winger wanting a permanent move to be sorted as opposed to a return to feature under Daniel Farke.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that the board in LS11 want to sell the ex-Manchester City man given that his return would see him represent one of the highest earners at the club.

Elland Road

Although his influence could be useful in the Premier League, if promotion isn’t secured, his wages may be a financial burden and put pressure on the club to sell other stars.

As a result, the Whites will be fearful of Everton pulling out of a deal to sign Harrison but there may be hope of other sides coming in for his signature to get him off the books.
