Jamie Carragher has been speaking on all things Everton ahead of the Merseyside derby, which led to him making a controversial Wayne Rooney claim.
Everton are set to welcome Liverpool to Goodison Park on Saturday lunch time, but there have been some concerns about the game emerging recently.
Storm Darragh is wreaking havoc across the United Kingdom, and the Merseyside derby could yet be postponed, albeit it is unlikely, as 70 mile per hour winds are forecasted.
Nevertheless, preparations are still going on, with Arne Slot stating he’s wary of Everton’s presence from set-pieces ahead of the game.
Jamie Carragher has been talking about his memories of the Merseyside derby, which brought him onto the topic of Wayne Rooney‘s time at Everton.

Jamie Carragher says Wayne Rooney is not an Everton legend
Wayne broke onto the scene at Goodison Park as a sixteen-year-old, and ended up appearing 117 times for Everton over two stints, scoring 28 times and assisting eight goals.
Rooney had an interesting story to tell on how he left Everton, which involved picking Manchester United in a £20 million move due to the fact it would annoy Liverpool fans.

MORE EVERTON STORIES
There has been much debate over the years as to whether he qualifies as an Everton legend or simply just a footballing legend in a more general term, and Jamie Carragher has offered his opinion.
Speaking to the Athletic in a Q&A, the Liverpool legend stated that Wayne Rooney isn’t an Everton legend, he’s a Manchester United legend.
“I know people will mention a lot of other players who played for Everton that they consider world class now, won’t they? Someone like Wayne Rooney. Sorry Blues, but Wayne is a Manchester United legend, not an Everton one!”
What else did Jamie Carragher say about Everton legends?
Jamie Carragher was asked about an all-time Merseyside derby XI, and he gave this response.
“Since the 1960s, there are three genuinely world-class players who won the biggest honours for Everton and stand out above the rest: Alan Ball, Ray Wilson and Neville Southall.
“They would be the only three that come to my mind to get into a post-war all-time Merseyside XI.
People told me about Ray Wilson when I was growing up, so he would get in at left-back.
“I would pick Neville over Ray Clemence. At his best, no-one was better than Neville.
“And then Ball has to be in the team. If I speak to my dad or any Evertonian who saw Ball play, they will tell you he is Everton’s greatest ever outfield player.”
