Everton will take on Premier League leaders Liverpool at Goodison Park on Saturday.
The Toffees are heading into the match on the back of a 4-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, and they will be super motivated to do well against the Reds in the final league derby at this iconic venue.
Liverpool have lost only once this season, and they have taken a healthy seven-point lead over Chelsea and Arsenal at the top.
Sean Dyche should get his team selection spot on, and he must consider how he can stop Liverpool from inflicting damage.
Here is the predicted Everton starting XI v Liverpool
Jordan Pickford kept yet another clean sheet in the previous game, and he needs to be at the top of his game against the Reds.
In defence, Michael Keane is injured and will not take part in this fixture. James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaly Mykolenko should keep their places, but Dyche must drop Ashley Young for this game.
The 39-year-old was outstanding against Wolves, but he could struggle against Liverpool’s pacey wingers like Luis Diaz or Cody Gakpo. He was sent off at Anfield last season, and Dyche cannot afford to take risks with him.
Nathan Patterson should come in his place. The 23-year-old also had success over Diaz in the past, and he would be a better option than both Young or Seamus Coleman, who is now available for selection.
In midfield, Orel Mangala and Idrissa Gueye did a terrific job in the last game, and the duo should continue. Tim Iroegbunam (foot) and James Garner (back) are still out injured, and Dyche has limited options in that area.
Abdoulaye Doucoure has been below par in recent games, and he should be dropped.
Dyche cannot allow Liverpool forwards to dominate the game, and therefore, he may start with Jack Harrison on the right. Harrison may not have tracks back a lot, and his work rate is superb.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Ilimian Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil will retain their places. Dyche has been left impressed by Armando Broja, who made a cameo appearance in his first start for the Toffees against Wolves, and he could be used from the bench yet again.
Thus, Dyche could make two changes to the side, with Harrison and Patterson coming in for Doucoure and Young.
Predicted Everton line-up v Liverpool: Pickford; Tarkowski, Patterson, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Mangala; Ndiaye, McNeil, Harrison, Calvert-Lewin.
