Brazilian outfit hopeful of landing 27-year-old Arsenal man

Brazilian outfit Palmeiras are optimistic about bringing their academy product Gabriel Jesus back to the club.

According to a report from Fichajes, Palmeiras have high ambitions for the 2025 transfer window and they are plotting a raid on Arsenal to bring Gabriel Jesus back to the club. They seek more firepower up top for Abel Ferreira’s team and the Brazilian international is seen as an ideal candidate to help them take the next step.

He came up the ranks at Palmeiras and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team before securing a move to the Premier League. He ended up joining Manchester City and had a lot of success during his five-year-long stint at the club.

While he did most things right during his time at City, Gabriel Jesus wasn’t an out-and-out goal scorer and they ended up sanctioning his departure to make room for a more prolific number nine. Mikel Arteta who had seen him from close quarters during his time at City ended up bringing him to Arsenal during the summer of 2022.

Gabriel Jesus was a key figure in the North London club’s first team in the initial years but a lot has changed of late. He has gone down the pecking order and hasn’t been effective enough in the final third.

The former City star has just one goal and an assist in his 17 outings across competitions. He has been on the pitch for less than 600 minutes. While his contract at Arsenal runs until the summer of 2027, a move away from the club in the near future looks like a real possibility.

Gabriel Jesus could re-join Palmeiras

Palmeiras are looking to make the most out of the situation. They dream of bringing their academy star back to the club and with him not in form, they are looking to strike a deal with Arsenal. Since the 27-year-old doesn’t have an important role at the North London club, he could consider returning to South America.

The Brazilian club has high ambitions for the near future. They want to compete for the Brasileirao, the Copa Libertadores and the Club World Cup and feel bringing in someone like Gabriel Jesus could be a significant boost for their squad.

Ferreira would love to work with a world-renowned star who can feature anywhere in the attack and is capable enough to create as well as score. Palmeiras are confident that they can convince their academy graduate to make a return and they believe the emotional connection to his home country could be a key factor in his decision.
