Manchester City vs Leicester City: Possible Line-ups

The possible line-ups are derived from previous match days. We take into consideration how strong the opponents are, what players are injured and of course team news before the match.

Team News Manchester City

Head coach Gareth Taylor gave a squad update, especially on Aleixandri and Hemp. Aleixandri picked up an injury while on international duty just after the match against Aston Villa (20th of October). Lauren Hemp suffered a knee injury during the match against Crystal Palace and underwent successful surgery.

Manchester City welcomes Leicester City this weekend and Laia Aleixandri is a possible starter: “We’ll have to manage her in the right way, since the last international break she got injured with Spain and we weren’t able to use her in the last run of games before this break. We’ll have to get these next four games right so she’s in the best place.”

Gareth Taylor explained that Lauren Hemp’s injury was very similar to Vivianne Miedema’s: “As for estimated return, it’s really difficult because each player is different. It will be the new year, there’s no doubt. We won’t see her in the next run of four games. Hopefully, the closer that is to New Year the better for us. For someone like Lauren, they have quick recovery powers. Having her back would be amazing because Lauren and Viv they are key players to miss. It was a meniscus issue, when you hear knee injury everyone thinks of the worst which is ACL.”

Chloe Kelly withdrew from the Lionesses, and she will not be available against Leicester City. She sustained a concussion and that’s always a situation that is closely monitored.
