Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo may be tempted to join West Ham in the January transfer window, according to Foot Mercato.

The news outlet reported that the Hammers are keen on strengthening their defence despite signing two centre-backs in the summer, and want the Blues defender on loan.

Given the 27-year-old’s lack of game time, a move to the London Stadium in the coming weeks may be on the cards.

West Ham do not need another centre-back in the January transfer window

Instead of pursuing a loan for Chelsea’s Adarabioyo, the Hammers should concentrate on developing the chemistry between their recent summer signings, Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman.

Investing time in their partnership could yield a robust defensive duo.

Todibo, with his experience from Ligue 1, brings a dynamic presence and ball-playing ability, while Kilman offers solid, dependable defending with his physicality and aerial presence.

Both have shown promise in their initial games and allowing them more time on the pitch together would not only help in building a cohesive defensive line but also in acclimating to the Premier League’s pace and physical demands.

This would also be more beneficial in the long run, fostering a consistent pairing that could anchor the defence, rather than introducing another player into the mix who might disrupt the team’s balance or require time to adapt himself.
