Man Utd, PSG Transfer Target Has Potential to Become One of World’s ‘Best Strikers’

RB Leipzig strikerBenjamin Šeško was reportedly on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar during the summer transfer window as they looked for a new goal-scoring option following Kylian Mbappé’s departure.

The Slovenian forward, under contract with Leipzig until 2029, had a strong 2023-24 season, scoring 18 goals and providing two assists in 42 appearances.

PSGwas linked with several strikers over the summer, but sporting advisor Luis Campos ultimately chose not to bring in a new No. 9.

The 21-year-oldis continuing his impressive form in the 2024-25 season, with eight goals and three assists in 19 matches across all competitions. So far, his decision to stay with Leipzig is paying off.

Udinese star Jaka Bijol has closely followed the frontman’s progress, having trained alongside him numerous times and witnessed firsthand the challenges he poses to opponents during their international outings together. Bijol firmly believes the 21-year-old has what it takes to elevate his game to the next level.

“He could be a top player at the end of the day,”Bijol told GIVE ME SPORT. “He has everything to reach that level and be one of the best strikers in the world. It’s up to him to show it to everyone.

“It’s going to be hard for us to qualify for the World Cup, but I think we are in a good way. We keep on improving as a team, so why not? It’s a big goal for us, which we are aiming towards. After Euro 2024, I think the only natural thing to do is to look at the World Cup and to try to qualify for it.”

According to Philipp Hinze of SkySport Germany, Šeško has a “gentleman’s agreement” with RB Leipzig, which would allow him to leave next summer if an offer between €70 million and €75 million comes in.

Should the London club reignite their interest, they might face stiffer competition.Back in September, Give Me Sport noted that Manchester United are still keen on signing the Leipzig striker.
