Bournemouth beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in a tense Premier League clash which saw the Cherries take the lead in the 17th minute.
Tavernier took a deep corner which led to Dean Huijsen scoring a header to get the opener.
The Englishman explained to the Daily Echo: “We always analyse the opposition on where we think their weaknesses are on set pieces, and we’ve had great success of it this season.”
When asked if this was a routine the squad had practiced, he replied: “That’s something we worked on yesterday night.”
Tavernier then went on to say: “It was our routine and then we were lucky to get everything going right.
“The ball ended up in the back of the net, which managed to get us the three points today.”
The result means Bournemouth have now shot above Tottenham in the standings, sitting ninth with 21 points, whilst Spurs place one point below them in tenth.
Bournemouth’s next fixture will see them travel to Portman Road, as they face Ipswich Town on Sunday.
