'The only thing': Paul Merson predicts who will win between Tottenham and Chelsea and pinpoints 'worry'

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea prepare to lock horns on Sunday in what promises to be the standout fixture of the Premier League weekend.

With a Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton also on the cards, football fans could be treated to two high-quality games in the coming days.

Tottenham and Chelsea are currently experiencing contrasting fortunes across all competitions.

While Tottenham are winless in three after beating Manchester City, Chelsea are in fantastic form and have moved to second in the table, above Arsenal on goal difference.

And Paul Merson feels Tottenham’s misery could deepen this weekend and he delivered his scoreline prediction for the London derby.

Ange Postecoglou was spotted having a word with the Tottenham fans after their disappointing 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth, which is an indication that things aren’t going as planned.

Chelsea, meanwhile, certainly look the part under Enzo Maresca, who has made quite the impression since replacing Mauricio Pochettino at the helm.

Merson predicts a 3-1 win for Chelsea but admits he was a bit worried by how many chances they conceded against Southampton despite winning.

He wrote in his column for Sportskeeda: “The only thing that worries me with Chelsea is that they gave away a couple of really good chances to Southampton, even when they were only playing against 10 men.

“Ange Postecoglou wants Tottenham to be entertaining that’s how they try to play. Chelsea have better players in nearly every position and may have too much for Spurs to handle.

What Tottenham are planning to do with Posteclgou

Tottenham are currently tenth in the Premier League and have continued to blow hot and cold this season.

Jamie O’Hara feels Daniel Levy will sack Postecoglou if their position in the league table doesn’t improve by Christmas, with games set to come thick and fast between now and the turn of the year.

However, TBR Football exclusively revealed earlier today that Tottenham have no plans of sacking Postecoglou despite their lukewarm run this season.

Nevertheless, Spurs have to start winning games now and with teams around them starting to find form, it certainly doesn’t look good for the Australian.
