'I am expecting': Chris Sutton states his prediction for Man Utd vs Nottingham Forest

BBC football pundit Chris Sutton has stated his prediction for today’s Premier League clash between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Arsenal in midweek. They struggled to test the Gunners in the final third and were eventually beaten by two set-piece goals.

United entertain Forest in today’s late kick-off and Sutton does not expect a straightforward game for the Red Devils, who are adapting to a new formation under manager Ruben Amorim.

Sutton still believes United will come on top with a 2-1 victory against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

He told BBC Sport: “I don’t see this game as being straightforward for United, either. Forest have already won at Anfield this season and they created chances against City on Wednesday, so I am expecting more of the same from them here.

“I am going to be a bit of a coward with my prediction, though. I backed Forest to get something at the Etihad Stadium, and I was wrong, so I am not brave enough to back them again on their return to Manchester.

“I’m disappointed in myself with this prediction to be honest, although I do think Forest will score this time.”

United have picked up eight points from their previous five league outings, but they need a much better tally over the next five to stay in the Champions League hunt.

The upcoming clash against Forest is a must-win, considering the seven-point gap to fourth-placed Manchester City.

The Red Devils have a testing schedule over the next month with the likes of City, Newcastle United and Liverpool to tackle.

Amorim has regularly rotated his squad due to the short recovery period and he is expected to do the same against Forest.

The Portuguese has already dropped a big hint that Manuel Ugarte may not make the starting XI.

There could be six changes to the line-up in our opinion.

Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo are expected to start after serving one-game suspensions against Arsenal in midweek.

As Sutton said, Forest are not an easy opposition to tackle. United need a quick start with a goal to settle any early nerves.
