Brahim Diaz and Ferland Mendy will return to the Real Madrid starting lineup against Girona at Estadi Montilivi for the league clash on Saturday night.
Real Madrid will be eager to return to winning ways when they lock horns with Girona at Estadi Montilivi on Saturday night. And Carlo Ancelotti does not have any new injury concerns that are hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Eder Militao, Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga, and Vinicius Junior remain on the sidelines for the away side. Otherwise, every other player is in the travelling squad to take on Girona this weekend.
Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Ancelotti provided a fitness update on Alaba and Vinicius Junior. The Italian tactician also discussed Kylian Mbappe’s form amid his continued struggles.
The Real Madrid manager said, “It’s great news. We’re encouraged to see how well Vini Jr. has recovered from his injury. He won’t be available tomorrow but he should be ready for our next Champions League game.”
“We’re delighted to have Alaba back in training too. He needs all of December to ensure he’s fit and ready to play again in January. He’ll keep working individually and we’ll bring him back into the group gradually. His comeback is set for next year.”
On Mbappe, the Real Madrid manager said, “He’s aware, the post he made after the game shows he understands how he’s performing and what he can do. We’re right behind him. He’s not showing the best of his ability, but there are loads of players who fail to do that, and aren’t even aware of it. He’s doing everything he can to be at his best as soon as possible.”
Mbappe should retain his spot in the final third, forming an offensive partnership with Rodrygo. Brahim Diaz will be the third player in the attacking trifecta, with the Moroccan international replacing Dani Ceballos in the starting lineup.
The midfield trifecta should not see any surprise decisions, with Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Federico Valverde taking their places in the middle of the park. Thibaut Courtois will take his spot between the sticks, while Ferland Mendy will join Lucas Vazquez, Raul Asencio, and Antonio Rudiger in the backline.
