Following a comfortable 2-0 victory over Manchester United in midweek, Arsenal will face off against Fulham at Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
After the midweek victory, the Gunners are currently third in the league with 28 points from 14 games, sitting seven points behind the table topper Liverpool. Chelsea are just ahead of the North London club in goal difference having accumulated the same number of points.
On the other hand, Fulham have been in fine form this season. They are currently sixth in the league with 22 points from 14 games. They will be coming into this game off the back of an impressive 3-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion in midweek.
Arsenal lost this fixture last campaign so they will have to play at the top of their game to earn all three points from this encounter.
Team news
Arsenal were without Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori in midweek and Mikel Arteta hasn’t provided any positive update regarding their availability for this game so they are in doubt. Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are set to remain sidelined with their respective problems.
Predicted line-up
Arteta is unlikely to make many changes to his starting eleven that started in midweek with David Raya set to continue between the sticks. Gabriel and Calafiori will return to the line-up straight away if they can recover in time but should they not then Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko could continue.
On the right side of the defence for the North London Club, William Saliba and Jurrien Timber would keep hold of their place after keeping a clean-sheet last time out.
Thomas Partey should be in the deep-lying playmaker position and alongside him, Declan Rice is set to be in the engine room with Martin Odegaard in the attacking midfield position. Therefore, Jorginho, Mikel Merino and Ethan Nwaneri would have to make do with a place on the bench.
Bukayo Saka would remain in the right flank, while Leandro Trossard may return to the starting eleven after featuring off the bench in midweek so Gabriel Martinelli could be among the substitutes.
Kai Havertz should be leading the line for Arsenal and in that case, Gabriel Jesus could feature off the bench if needed.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Fulham
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Havertz, Trossard
