Enzo Maresca has no doubt that Moises Caicedo is now at the same level as Declan Rice and Rodri following his performances so far this season.
Caicedo has been instrumental in Chelsea’s strong start to the season, with the Blues currently second and seven points behind leaders Liverpool.
The 23-year-old has started every Premier League game this season and has found a new level under Maresca having initially struggled following his £115m British record transfer from Brighton in 2023.

Caciedo looks like the player he was at Brighton and there’s been no mention of his price tag or him being a flop like there was last season.
Maresca continued to show his demanding side and admitted there were still plenty of things Caicedo can do better, which is great news for Chelsea given the level he’s already performing at.
The Ecuador international has been labelled as arguably the best midfielder in the league this season, although Maresca stopped short of saying that earlier this season.

However, he now believes Caicedo is on the same level as Rice and Rodri and claimed he can sit at the table with the duo.
“He is for sure now at that level,” he told The Guardian.
“No doubt. Unfortunately, Rodri is injured but Declan is playing. But I think Moisés can sit at that table with that kind of midfielder.”
It was always going to take Caicedo a bit of time to settle at Chelsea and find his feet, but there were no doubts he would eventually show his quality.

The midfielder has even shown he’s more than capable of playing the inverted right back role, which gives Maresca another option if he wishes.
It will be interesting to see where Caicedo plays against Tottenham on Sunday, but one thing is for certain he will be key to Chelsea’s chances of getting a positive result.
