Everton face Liverpool in the final Merseyside league derby

Welcome to our live coverage of the final Merseyside league derby to be played at Goodison Park as neighbours Everton and Liverpool clash in the day's 12.30pm kick-off. It is a big match for both teams.

Spirits have been lifted in the Everton camp after a rousing 4-0 home win over Wolves on Wednesday opened up a five-point gap on the Premier League relegation places.

Liverpool's lead at the top was cut to seven points on the same night after they had to settle for a thrilling 3-3 draw at Newcastle United. But even more than the Blues, confidence should be high after a storming start to life under new head coach Arne Slot.

While the Dutchman's opposite number Sean Dyche hasn't enjoyed a smooth as opening to the season, he did become the first Everton manager to win a Goodison derby since 2010 when he masterminded a 2-0 victory in April.

Can Dyche and the Blues do it again? Or will Slot and the Reds record one final win at the home of their biggest rivals?

Our Everton reporters Joe Thomas and Chris Beesley, and Liverpool reporters Paul Gorst and Ian Doyle, will be in place at Goodison Park to bring you all the pre-match build-up including team news when it drops at 11.15am, and then all the action and the best post-game reaction and analysis.
