Tottenham Hotspur were beaten fair and square by Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Thursday evening in the Premier League.
The 1-0 defeat on the South Coast flattered Ange Postecoglou’s side as Bournemouth wasted multiple chances on the night. It was another turgid display from the Lilywhites, and all the momentum they had gathered following the 4-0 demolition of Manchester City a fortnight ago has withered away.
The North Londoners sit tenth in the Premier League table, and, quite simply, they haven’t been good enough this season. After the game against Bournemouth, Ange Postecoglou confronted disgruntled Tottenham fans in the away section as they vented their frustrations.

The Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham feels “it is a long way back” for Ange Postecoglou after Thursday’s post-match scenes with the Tottenham supporters. He suspects the 59-year-old tactician could struggle to turn things around at White Hart Lane after confronting some fans at the away end of the Vitality Stadium.
“Those scenes at the end of the match were incredibly disappointing,” John Wenham exclusively told Tottenham News.
“The supporters who would have travelled to Bournemouth are the proper hardcore Tottenham supporters. It wasn’t just one person booing, there was a group of fans all visibly frustrated.
“There was some incredibly volatile language aimed at the manager. These are the real hardcore fans, down at Bournemouth on a Thursday night, so if they’re turning on you, it is a long way back from there.”

Match Preview: Tottenham Hotspur host Chelsea in the Premier League.
Big Ange is under no immediate risk of being sacked by Spurs.
Big Ange’s side have won just one of their past six matches in all competitions and for the most part, the displays have been as worrying as the results. From conceding poor goals from set-pieces, and silly errors to players not performing consistently for 90 minutes, things are not looking great.
As a consequence of Spurs’ repeatedly bad performances, Big Ange finds himself under immense pressure even though he is under no immediate risk of being sacked. While he is hamstrung by the injuries that Tottenham are dealing with, the experienced tactician will know that things have to turn around quickly if he is to ensure he has a future at the club.

One can understand the frustration of the travelling fans and they have full right to express their sentiments and make it clear that they are unhappy with the team’s inconsistent displays. The pressure has now piled up on Big Ange who now faces an in-form Chelsea side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
