Leeds United winger Jack Harrison was a key target for Sean Dyche’s Everton during the summer, but his loan is not looking likely to be made permanent.
When failing to gain promotion back to the top flight in May, Leeds were forced to face the grim reality of another EFL campaign, which includes seeing loan clauses remain.
Jack Harrison was one of them, returning to Everton for the season ahead, hoping to kick on from his inconsistent first season at Goodison Park.

Here, we look at everything we know about Jack Harrison’s future as he struggles for form under Sean Dyche…
How is Harrison getting on at Everton?
It’s safe to say that Harrison’s loan at the Merseyside club could be going a lot better this time around, 13 appearances into the season and yet to get off the mark with a goal or assist.
His previous starting berth under Dyche has been stripped away from him, coming off the bench more often than not lately, including in Everton’s 4-0 win over Wolves on Wednesday.
In that game, he came off the bench and looked lively, but spurned more than one golden chance for Everton to cap off a brilliant display, skying a cut-back from Armando Broja high into the stand behind.

Will Everton sign Jack Harrison permanently?
Given the fact that Dyche has dropped Harrison to the bench of late, favouring his other wide options, suggests that he’s not rated as highly anymore by the Toffees boss.
With that, it might be a strong indication that he’s not going to be part of the long-term plans at Everton beyond his loan spell.
Dyche’s long-term future is also in doubt at Everton, the man who pushed to sign Harrison, so it calls the winger’s presence at the club into further question beyond Dyche’s tenure.
How much would Harrison cost? Any PSR worries?
Signed from Manchester City in 2021 for fee of £11million, Harrison would be someone that Leeds see as a solid saleable asset even with his woeful form.
At the age of 28, he’s likely past the peak years that he enjoyed under Marcelo Bielsa, but he is on a contract until 2028, meaning that he’s nowhere near the end of his Elland Road deal – having penned that deal only weeks before relegation.
Set to notch his 150th Premier League appearance, he’s someone that could add plenty of experience to Everton’s side or anyone else fancying a permanent deal.
The issue is his form has absolutely nosedived since leaving Elland Road for Goodison, and any side wanting to gamble on him recapturing what he showed in West Yorkshire might only want to commit to a reduced fee.
Given Harrison’s initial four-year deal would be concluding next summer, the worry of making a PSR loss on Harrison is in the past, and any sale from hereon could represent a boost for Leeds’ standing on that front.
What are Jack Harrison’s current wages?
When Leeds were relegated, the players had a clause in their contracts that saw their wages slashed by 50-60% – per The Athletic – but the flip-side of that was the loan clauses to let them leave temporarily.
It would then be expected that Everton have been paying the full extent of Harrison’s wages, which Capology reveal as £90,000-per-week – or £4,680,000 across a year.
What are Everton fans saying about Harrison at the moment?
Harrison’s latest performance off the bench against Wolves did little to raise his stock amongst the Everton fans watching on at an otherwise perfect showing.
He ballooned a big chance over the bar in added time and it was enough for these Everton fans to voice their long-standing concerns on the 28-year-old’s abilities as a Premier League winger:
@gowens1878: “Jack Harrison makes me day, never give up on ye dreams kids cos he’s somehow a Premier League footballer”
@JDGEFC: “Send Harrison back in January and get someone else on loan.”
@_luke1878_: “Can we send Harrison back to Leeds ASAP please.”
