Everton vs Liverpool was supposed to take place on Saturday afternoon for the final time at Goodison Park.
Troy Deeney tipped Liverpool to win this match, and it looked like it was going to be a classic.
However, Storm Darragh had other ideas, and the match has now been called off due to adverse weather conditions.
Winds of up to 80 miles per hour are expected on Saturday on Merseyside, so calling this game off was probably a wise idea.
Everton will face Liverpool at a later date, but this postponement couldn’t have come at a worse time.
Indeed, the football schedule is now packed for the next few weeks as we head into the busy festive period, so finding a slot for this match to be re-arranged will be tricky.
However, having analysed the two teams’ fixtures, there are a few likely dates in which this game could go ahead.

Everton’s upcoming fixtures
Much like every team in the Premier League, Everton have a busy fixture list coming up.
The Toffees are in action every few days from now until the end of the month, while normality is set to resume in January.
Everton don’t have European commitments, nor are they in the EFL Cup, so their schedule is much more flexible than Liverpool’s.
Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures
Liverpool have a busier schedule than Everton over the next two months as the Reds have Champions League commitments to deal with as well as the EFL Cup.
Liverpool still have six games to play for the remainder of this month, and January doesn’t slow down either.
Liverpool’s schedule is jam-packed, so it will be very tough to find space for this game in the immediate future without some sort of controversy around the scheduling.
Jurgen Klopp often complained about his team’s schedule, and Arne Slot will have every right to do the same here.
When could Everton vs Liverpool take place?
Liverpool do have a few gaps in which a midweek game could take place, New Year’s Day could work, but policing may be an issue given the festivities at that time of year and the fact this is a fierce local rivalry.
A midweek game for the 7th or 8th of January could also work ahead of the FA Cup third round too. However, that could be affected if Liverpool make it to the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.
Depending on FA Cup results, Everton vs Liverpool could take place in the first week of February. There is a gap in the calendar there for FA Cup games, but if Everton and Liverpool are both eliminated early, that could be the perfect stage for this game.
Failing any of that, Everton and Liverpool both have a week-long space between their games on the 15th and the 22nd of February, so a mid-week game could be squeezed in there.
The Premier League schedulers have a difficult job on their hands here, and it’s going to be hard to please everyone with the placing of this game.
