Kylian Mbappé’s (25) last exclusive interview dates back to 18th January, however, amid difficulties on the pitch at new club Real Madrid, he is set to break his silence.
The former Paris Saint-Germain forward has been absent at international level, missing the last two international breaks, whilst Didier Deschamps stated that his captain wasn’t in the “_best psychological conditions_” when he was present during the international break in September. The reasons for his continued absence from _Les Bleus’_ set-up remain vague and come after a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign on a personal level for the AS Monaco academy product. Deschamps did, however, state that Mbappé’s absence from the squad in November was not due to non-sporting reasons, a reference to an ongoing investigation for an alleged rape – a case that reports suggest that Mbappé is a potential suspect.
At club level, Mbappé is also struggling. Whilst he has 10 goals since joining _Los Blancos_ on a free transfer in the summer, it is widely accepted that the Frenchman is yet to live up to expectations at the Bernabeu. He recently missed a penalty in the UEFA Champions League against Liverpool and he followed that up with another miss from the spot against Athletic Club earlier this week.
It is within this context that Mbappé will speak on the show ‘[**Clique**](https://x.com/cliquetv/status/1865074275821977632)‘, broadcast on **Canal Plus,** on Sunday night at 19:30 in France. In a clip shared on social media, the France captain alluded to why he was doing the interview. _“When you’re a star, if you don’t speak, people speak for you because they have to speak about you. Every day there is something when I haven’t even spoken to anyone,”_ he said.
