Oscar Mingueza’s big breakthrough this season has been well-documented. The former Barcelona youth prodigy is earning rave reviews for his performances at Celta Vigo.
Mingueza’s performances at right-back, in fact, have even earned him a call-up to the Spanish national team this year.
With a tally of two goals and five assists in 14 league matches, Mingueza has also become a sought-after prospect in the transfer market.
Interestingly, Barcelona, too, have been linked with a move for Mingueza, as the club consider shoring up their ranks in the right-back department.
RB Leipzig eye move for Mingueza
Barcelona, though, are set to face stiff competition as Miguel Rico reports that even RB Leipzig have joined the race to sign Mingueza.

As per the report, the Bundesliga giants are weighing up a €20 million move for Mingueza in the upcoming January transfer window.
It appears Leipzig are keen on adding more depth in the right-back department, with Mingueza emerging as the ideal option.
While Leipzig are willing to meet Mingueza’s €20 million release clause, Barcelona can sign the player for half the value due to a 50% future sell-on clause embedded in the agreement with Celta Vigo.
Contrarily, they can end up pocketing half of the aforementioned fee, i.e., €10 million, if Leipzig go ahead and snag Mingueza’s signing from the Galician outfit.
After all, despite the tentative interest in him, Barcelona do have Jules Kounde and Hector Fort as options for the right-back position already.
