Man United, Liverpool make contact to sign 24-year-old wide player on Arsenal and Chelsea radar

Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies has been linked with a move away from the German club as he nears the end of his current contract.

The 24-year-old left-back will be a free agent at the end of the season and the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool are keen on him. However, Bayern Munich do not want to lose the player on a free transfer. They are hoping to secure a contract agreement with him, which would see him renew his current deal.

According to TBR Football, Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping tabs on his current situation as well. The Canadian international would be a quality addition for all four clubs. He will add defensive cover and creativity from the wide areas. It remains to be seen where he ends up.

Manchester United need a more reliable alternative to Luke Shaw who has struggled with injury problems. Davies would be a quality addition. Similarly, Liverpool need a quality replacement for Andrew Robertson, who is in the twilight stages of his career.

The two clubs have been in contact with the representatives of the defender, and it will be interesting to see if they can convince the player to snub a new deal with the German club and join one of them instead.
