When will Everton vs Liverpool be played? Possible date and time after Merseyside derby…

Liverpool was set to play Everton at Goodison Park in the early Saturday kick-off but the fixture has been postponed as a result of Storm Darragh. The weather conditions have been deemed too dangerous for fans to attend.

"Liverpool FC can confirm today’s Premier League fixture against Everton at Goodison Park, scheduled for a 12.30pm kick-off, has been postponed," a statement from the club posted on its official website confirmed. "This is due to severe weather and high winds, which have also resulted in severe travel disruption in and around Merseyside."

So when could the game be rescheduled? In an already busy season, there are not loads of options. Liverpool has two extra Champions League fixtures to play this year and is still in the Carabao Cup too.

The next free midweek that Liverpool has is actually the week beginning December 30. It would, in theory, be possible to play the game on New Year's Day with neither side in action in that midweek. The only other Premier League game scheduled for New Year's Day is Brentford vs Arsenal.

Next week, the Reds play Girona in Europe. The week after, there is the trip to Southampton in the Carabao Cup. Then comes Christmas with the Boxing Day game against Leicester City.

Liverpool is free on the week beginning January 6 but Everton is due to face Peterborough in the FA Cup on the Thursday so that will rule out that slot. There are already Premier League fixtures in the midweek after that before two rounds of Champions League games conclude the first month of 2025.

Liverpool.com says: If it isn't in the final week of this month (New Year's Day rather than New Year's Eve), the match would have to be moved back to February at the earliest. Normally when Premier League games are off, they get played as soon as possible.

The Anfield derby is right at the start of April so it would be strange for the two fixtures to be so close together unless the rearrangement can be sorted out for January 1. That seems like the most logical day right now.
