The Premier League title race is heating up, as, for the first time in five years, it looks like we will have a fresh champion this season.
Indeed, Manchester City’s recent poor run of form could well spell the end of Pep Guardiola’s four-year run of dominance at the top of the table.
Liverpool are the favourites for the title, but Gary Neville has backed Arsenal to win the league.
Arsenal and Liverpool may be dominating the conversation at the moment, but it’s actually Chelsea who are in second-place right now.
The Blues are flying at the moment under Enzo Maresca, and speaking on It’s All Kicking Off, Chris Sutton has shared his verdict on Chelsea’s title chances.

Chris Sutton on Chelsea’s title chances
The pundit pondered whether or not the Blues are title contenders.
Sutton ultimately said that Chelsea are capable of winning the Premier League.
“Are they capable of winning the Premier League? I think, why not? You can have all these plans, young team, young development team and plan to win a certain season.
“Jack Walker planned to win the Premier League at Blackburn the season after we actually won it. So I really don’t think that Chelsea should be thinking further down the line. It’s about grabbing the opportunity.
“And they are absolutely flying at this moment in time. So I think they’re in a title race.”
Chelsea fixtures analysed
Sutton says that Chelsea are title contenders, and looking at the Blues’ fixture list, it’s easy to understand why the pundit thinks that.
Chelsea have a very favourable run of matches from now until the end of January.
Other than a game against Fulham in a few weeks’ time, Chelsea don’t face another team in the top six until the play Manchester City on January 25th.
If Chelsea can win the games they’re supposed to win between now and that City game, they’ll very much be in the mix.
Of course, a gap of seven points to Liverpool is a lot of ground to make up, and this is an inexperienced team, but to write Chelsea off would be foolish.
Some have written Chelsea off already, but they could well challenge for the Premier League title this season.
