Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano probably does not want to rain on the parade for Bayern Munich fans, but things might not be as close as many were hoping between Alphonso Davies and the club.
X account @iMiaSanMia captured a statement from Romano, which details his information on the Davies situation:
My information is that Alphonso Davies has not decided anything. The situation remains absolutely open. My understanding is also that as of now, Davies is not signing anything before Christmas or before the end of the year. The idea is to consider all possibilities. Bayern are in contact with the player’s management and are trying to extend his contract. But there are also Real Madrid and Manchester United. Nothing is imminent.
Well...that is a bit of a bummer. Anyway, Sky Sport journalist (via @iMiaSanMia) did provide some good news — rumors of a strained relationship between Bayern Munich and the Davies camp were overblown:
There were no problems between Bayern and Alphonso Davies’ representatives. Both parties have a good relationship and are speaking to each other.
