Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has found himself in a war of words with his old adversary Jose Mourinho again this week.
At the end of City’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool, Guardiola held six fingers up to the Anfield crowd after they serenaded him with a chant suggesting he’ll be sacked as a result of the Manchester club’s recent run of poor form.
When it was suggested that this behaviour was similar to Mourinho’s previous antics, the City boss said the only difference is that he’s won six league trophies and the current Fenerbahce manager has only won three.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur manager then replied by suggesting Guardiola’s title wins are tainted as a result of City’s alleged 115 financial breaches – which the club have vehemently denied.
This has now led to the Catalan sharing his reaction to what his 61-year-old former El Clasico rival said about City’s accusations of financial wrongdoing.

Guardiola responds to Mourinho dig
When asked what he made of Mourinho’s recent comments, Guardiola said this in his latest press conference ahead of City’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace.

He said: “If I’ve offended him, I’m so sorry. But it was a joke. The fact is he has three, I have six. These are the facts. It was a joke.
“But he’s another on the huge list that wants the team in League One or Conference. But I’d say to Jose; we’re innocent until proven guilty. After that, we’ll see what happens. But it was completely a joke.”
Mourinho has already demanded remunerations if City are found guilty
According to the Premier League, Man City broke the rules over nine seasons by allegedly failing to provide accurate financial information (via Sky Sports).
After finishing second with United in the 2017/18 season when City won their first league title under Guardiola with 100 points, Mourinho highlighted what he wants if the Blues are found guilty of their alleged charges.
He said: “I think we still have a chance to win that league, maybe they punish Manchester City with points, we win that league. They have to pay me the bonus and give me the medal.”
With Guardiola now reiterating how many more Premier League titles he’s won than Mourinho while reminding him and the football world that unless the club are proven guilty of their financial charges, they are innocent, this should put an end to this latest media spat between the two managers.
