Manchester United have released a statement regarding their Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday - but the game is currently scheduled to go ahead as planned.

Ruben Amorim's side host Forest at Old Trafford (5.30pm) and there was some concern that the game could be in doubt after Everton's clash with Liverpool in the Merseyside derby was postponed.

However, United have released a statement on their official matchday information X, formerly known as Twitter account, to confirm the game is still ON and supporters will be updated if there is any changes.

The statement read: "Today’s Premier League fixture at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest is scheduled to go ahead as planned. The club will continue to consult the relevant authorities throughout the day and will update supporters immediately if anything changes.

"We understand that fan travel will be disrupted by the weather so this fixture will not be included in the minimum number of games a season that season tickets must be used."

As well as Everton vs Liverpool, SIX matches in the EFL have fallen foul to the weather. Cardiff City's encounter with Watford and Plymouth Argyle's match against Watford have both been postponed in the Championship due to Storm Darragh.

Every game in Wales have been called off, while Bristol Rovers vs Bolton Wanderers, Crawley Town vs Stevenage, Newport County vs Carlise United and Barrow AFC vs MK Dons have also been postponed.

Nevertheless, United are not expected to be affected by the storm as Amorim's side look to return to winning ways following Wednesday's 2-0 defeat against Arsenal. United suffered a 2-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium courtesy of second-half goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba.

But Amorim is eager to bounce back and give the supporters a "winning team". He said in his pre-match press conference: "I think that is the key point for us.

"We have to understand our supporters, in just two weeks and four matches, they just want to see effort in the first moment. And then to win games, after a while, with effort in winning games.

"They will want to see a dominant team. These are the phases we have to follow. This one is the easy one - effort, full effort, full sprint back, full sprint forward. It is a key point for us and the focus is a lot on that."
