Liverpool star increasingly likely to sign new deal

Premier League leaders Liverpool won’t have the chance to maintain their lead at the top of the table on Saturday after their game against Everton was postponed.

The match – which was due to be the final Merseyside derby at Everton’s Goodison Park stadium – was called of on Saturday morning due to bad weather.

That could allow the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal to decrease the Reds’ seven-point advantage at the top of the table, before Arne Slot’s side return to league action against Fulham next weekend.

In the meantime, though, it appears that the Merseyside outfit could soon be handed a huge boost.

As per GiveMeSport, talisman Mohamed Salah is increasing likely to sign a new contract with the club and end speculation surrounding his future.

The Egyptian’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, and his future has been the subject of speculation for several months now.

Salah could soon sign a new contract with Liverpool

Salah, 32, joined Liverpool from Italian side Roma in 2017 and has since scored 226 goals in 370 matches for the club across all competitions, as well as registering 101 assists.

He has been in particularly impressive form of late, scoring 15 times and providing 12 assists so far this term to help Slot’s side sit top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables.

The Egypt international has previously been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and was the subject of a huge £150 million offer from Pro League side Al-Ittihad.

It appears increasingly likely that he will commit his future to the Anfield side, though, with the report suggesting that Liverpool have put plans in place to make the player an offer that meets his demands.

Salah’s current deal is believed to earn him a staggering £400,000-per-week.
