Stan Collymore has reacted after the Everton and Liverpool match was postponed due to Storm Darragh.
The final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park was set to take place on Saturday [7 December] but it was announced that the game was postponed as Storm Darragh wreaks havoc throughout the UK.
Sean Dyche came into the weekend under pressure from those above him after a poor start to the season with his side just five points above the relegation zone, while their opponents occupy the top spot in the Premier League.
Stan Collymore showed the magnitude of the fixture as he shared his reaction on X writing: “Lots of matches postponed, make sure you check your fixture! Everton v Liverpool biggest casualty so far.”
Everton v Liverpool postponed
With the Toffees in poor form this season and their local rivals thriving at the top of the table, there is probably no good time to play Arne Slot’s side this season.

However, following on from the Blues’ excellent 4-0 victory against Wolves in the week, that is a result that could possibly have given Sean Dyche’s side a bit of momentum coming into the game.
Although their opponents came away from St James’ Park with a point, they performed a bit weaker than we have seen most weeks in the Premier League this year.

On top of this, you can imagine that the atmosphere in Goodison for this occasion would’ve been a brilliant one that could’ve spurred the players on to deliver on the pitch in this game.
By the time of the rearranged fixture, the Reds could possibly have the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Alisson Becker available again which will make them a tougher opponent.
Nevertheless, the Toffees will never want to be written off ahead of an occasion of this size.
