Nuno Espirito Santo says Nottingham Forest have an 'important' player who's barely been seen

Nuno Espirito Santo has been speaking ahead of the Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest clash, and has revealed one player who’s been huge this season.

Nottingham Forest are looking to bounce back at the first time of asking against Manchester United later on today, just days after being beaten 3-0 by Manchester City.

It remains to be seen as to whether the Manchester clash will even be on, but the signs are good after a statement was released recently.

45mph winds are scheduled for around kick-off time but things can change. This wouldn’t be disastrous, as the Merseyside derby was cancelled due to 70mph winds.

Nuno Espirito Santo has diverted his attention away from the weather, as ahead of the game he’s been praising one of his fringe players.

Nuno Espirito Santo says Willy Boly has been ‘huge’ for Nottingham Forest

Willy Boly got a taste of English football alongside Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He played a vital part under the Forest boss in securing promotion to the Premier League, and now it appears as if he’s a valued member at the City Ground.

The central defender has only appeared in 181 minutes of football this season, but Nuno maintains that he’s an important member of the squad.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Nottingham Forest boss said this.

“It’s huge, it’s huge with this experience we spent time together not only in Wolves, but in Porto before together, so we know ourselves so well.

“It’s huge, it’s huge, believe me, it’s very important to have this kind of players in the squad that realise okay, I’m not starting, but I’m still so important to put the message across to use my experience to the young lads.”

Willy Boly looks set to leave in the summer

Willy Boly is one of the players whose contracts expire at Nottingham Forest in June.

Currently he looks set to be on his way given the lack of game time this season, but perhaps Nuno could offer him a short-term deal if he deems his experience to be worthy of one.

Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic won’t be disrupted at the heart of the defence unless an injury is suffered, and even if there is, Morato has been the preferred option.
