Liverpool will be boosted by the return of Alexis Mac Allister for the rearranged Merseyside derby after Saturday's clash with Everton was postponed.
The Reds must now await a rescheduled date for their last ever trip to Goodison Park after weather conditions caused by Storm Darragh prompted officials to prioritise supporter safety, but it means their Argentinian midfielder can feature next time around.
Mac Allister had been set to serve a one-match suspension against the Toffees after picking up his fifth yellow card of the campaign during Wednesday's 3-3 draw with Newcastle, meaning Arne Slot was set to be severely weakened with his midfield options.
As a result of today's postponement, however, the 25-year-old will serve his Premier League ban against Fulham at Anfield next weekend instead, meaning that he will be available for selection by the time the rearranged fixture against Everton comes around.
That is, of course, barring any further suspensions or injuries for Mac Allister, but it provides a huge boost to Liverpool nonetheless. While Fulham might be higher in the table, the Reds would rather he miss that Anfield clash than a huge derby day at Goodison Park.
That's especially considering another six first-team stars were also set to miss today's scheduled fixture at Everton, with Slot's side currently experiencing a minor injury crisis at this hectic time of year. Alongside Mac Allister, Diogo Jota (muscular), Alisson (thigh), Federico Chiesa, Ibrahima Konate (knee), Conor Bradley (thigh) and Kostas Tsimikas (ankle) were also set to miss out through injury.

While Konate, Bradley and Tsimikas are out for the long-term, there is hope that Jota, Alisson and Chiesa could all be available for next weekend's visit of Fulham on December 14 as the Reds aim to return to winning ways in the Premier League.
The Reds will, of course, have to do so without Mac Allister as his ban moves over to next week, but luckily for Slot he still has a number of midfield options at his disposal who can fill in for the former Brighton star, with Curtis Jones most likely to fill that void.
Mac Allister has been in impressive form so far this season as he operates in a double pivot alongside Ryan Gravenberch in midfield, starting 12 of Liverpool's 14 games in the Premier League and playing every minute of its five Champions League fixtures, scoring twice.
