The postponement of the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool has led to some last minute re-arrangements being made by broadcasters. The game at Goodison Park was due to kick-off at 12.30pm on Saturday and be shown live on TNT Sports.
However, Storm Darragh put paid to the clash with the region under an amber weather warning with gusts of up to 70mph predicted. Conversations between Everton and relevant authorities led to a decision to postpone the match due to the safety of supporters travelling to, and in and around Goodison Park.
It led to achange in schedule for TNT Sports, who had to scramble to find what to fill the now vacant slot where the game was going to be. The new schedule has already seen highlights from Liverpool’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid.

At 11.30am there was a Premier League review of the midweek matches, with the 12.30pm slot taken up by a replay of the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Aston Villa from November 9.
Goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah gave the Reds a 2-0 win at Anfield. But the game may also be remembered for the controversy surrounding the referee who took charge.
David Coote was the man in the middle for the match. The referee has since been suspended by UEFA and is under investigation by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) after a video emerged hours after the game where he appeared to make derogatory comments about Liverpool and former manager Jurgen Klopp.
A second video where he appears to be snorting white powder, which is reported to have taken place during Euro 2024 has since emerged. The PGMOL have said that they are taking the video ‘very seriously’.
Unsurprisingly, the suspension of the referee has meant that he has not officiated in any matches since the videos emerged. It means that his final game was that between Liverpool and Villa which is being shown on TNT Sports.
