Crystal Palace v Manchester City: Gut Feelings

A win!!!!! Manchester City finally ended their dismal run of form by beating Nottingham Forest 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night. They now travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace before heading to Italy where they will hope to get their Champions League campaign back on track at Juventus.

They face a Palace side that have won just two all season and teeter on the edge of the relegation zone. Their only league victory at Selhurst Park this season came courtesy of a 1-0 win over Spurs and their last home outing saw them draw 1-1 with Newcastle. They have lost and drawn three of their seven games so far and the Blues will be confident of picking up another three points this afternoon,

As always, our team are here to give us their thoughts on how they see Saturday’s match.

Saul

Need a win again. This time away. City win 2-1.

Palace 1-2 City

Thomas

City are finally back in the win column and now they’re off to Selhurst Park. Palace sit just three points above the drop zone. City will need to keep their foot on the pedal here, but I think they will handle the Eagles without much fuss.

Palace 1-3 City

Will

The rot has stopped at City, but they continue to be plagued by City.

John Stones, Nathan Ake and (possibly) Manuel Akanji’s absences leave City looking thin at the back, and seemingly forced to have to play the slightly out of form Rico Lewis and the ageing Kyle Walker.

But confidence will be high after their comfortable win over Nottingham Forest, and I expect City to win again.

Crystal Palace 1-3 Manchester City

Pete

City won 4-2 at Selhurst Park last season and with that morale-boosting win over Forest in midweek, I’m expecting a good display from the Blues in what is likely to be stormy conditions in South London. City haven’t been at their best but I think they’ll get a statement win to announce their return.

Palace 0-4 City

How We Did Against Forest

We all predicted the rot would stop and it did. And, as a special bonus, both Saul and Will predicted the correct number of goals too. Pete predicted a clean sheet but no points for that. Should get a medal though for bravery.

Thomas is still way out on front but the bust Christmas schedule could change everything.

Here’s the table:
