'Dream come true': £33m Man City player says he's so lucky to play for Pep Guardiola’s side

Manchester City have seen a wide range of players make moves in and out of the club throughout Pep Guardiola’s reign.

Arriving at the Manchester club back in 2016, Guardiola has used over 90 players in his City team – guiding them to a multitude of domestic and European trophies.

Spending a combined total of seven years in charge of Barcelona and Bayern Munich, the 53-year-old is now in the middle of his ninth season with the Blues.

In fact, Guardiola’s tenure with City could stretch to 11 years, as he signed a two-year contract extension last month.

With his side on the hunt to win a fifth consecutive Premier League title, one figure in the Manchester club’s ranks has opened up about how he feels about being at the Etihad Stadium with Guardiola.

Savinho ‘privileged’ to be at Man City

In a recent interview with the club’s in-house media (via the official Man City website), Savinho gave this humble admission of how he feels about being a part of the current City squad.

He said: “For me, it’s a dream come true to be here at Manchester City. I think every player dreams of playing at a big club, of winning the opportunities that I’ve had.

“So, I’m privileged to be here with the best coach in the world, the best players in the world.”

How has Savinho fared so far this season?

City signed the Brazilian from Troyes back in July for an overall fee of £33m.

Since then, the winger has featured in 18 matches across all competitions prior to City’s away match against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Despite delivering five assists, the 20-year-old has yet to score his first goal for the club.

Back in October, Gareth Taylor shared his verdict on Savinho and what he’s made of the winger in the early months of his debut season at the Manchester club, saying this on the topic.

He said: “He’s been impressive because he’s very talented, you can see that. He always gets defenders on the back foot.

“I think he’s adapting really well. If he can get that goal I think it could unleash him and give him more confidence because we know he’s more than capable.”

With Savinho now sharing how delighted he is to be at the club, this shows how humble he is. However, he must continue to keep working hard and do all he can to make sure he ends up being an important long-term figure at the club.
