Three members of the Real Madrid squad named to take on Girona have on Saturday been forced to withdraw.
The trio in question? Rodrygo, Chema, and Gonzalo García.
Real Madrid are of course primed to return to competitive action later this evening.
In search of a bounce-back result after being condemned to defeat at the hands of Athletic Club in midweek, Los Blancos have made the trip to Catalunya, for a La Liga meeting with the aforementioned Girona.
On Friday, the eve of the clash, Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the matchup was unveiled across social media, as follows:
As alluded to above, though, a day on, three of those called up have been forced into respective withdrawals.
As per a statement across Real’s online platforms on Saturday:
‘Real Madrid travel to Girona for matchday 16 of LaLiga this evening at Montilivi but they will do so without Rodrygo, Gonzalo and Chema who have pulled out. Yáñez has been called up in their place.’
Further information regarding the wellbeing of the three is yet to be provided.
