Ethan Wheatley was on target as Manchester United's Under-21s were beaten.
Manchester United's Under-21s were beaten 3-1 by Sparta Prague in their latest Premier League International Cup group stage match at Carrington on Saturday afternoon.
Despite taking an early lead through Ethan Wheatley, the young Reds were powerless in attempting to stop their visitors from scooping all three points.
Prague blew United away in a devastating fashion shortly before half-time, scoring three goals in the space of just two minutes. Hynek Hruska brought the visitors level with 38 minutes played before Radek Siler flipped the game on its head less than 60 seconds later. The visitors then added a third goal to their collection two minutes later when Hruska claimed his second goal of the contest.

Shellshocker United attempted to muster a response in the second half but their efforts were to no avail. U21s boss Travis Binnion made changes in an effort to spark a comeback, bringing on the likes of Reece Munro and Ethan Ennis. He then turned to Chido Obi-Martin with 75 minutes on the clock, but it was an insufficient amount of time for the Dane to mark his mark on what was just his second appearance for the U21s.
United's youngsters have failed to win any of their opening three Premier League International Cup matches this season, picking up two points from a possible nine. Only Liverpool are keeping United off the foot of their eight-team group. The U21s are next in Premier League International Cup action on Tuesday, January 21, when they face current table-toppers Nordsjælland at Leigh Sports Village.
