Fulham boss Marco Silva has brushed off any worries of Arsenal's danger from set-pieces when the two teams meet in the Premier League this weekend.
The Gunners' two goals in defeating Manchester United on Wednesday night both came from set plays with Mikel Arteta's side earning a reputation as one of the most dangerous teams in the Premier League from those situations. Fulham will be next to try and deal with that when Arsenal travel to Craven Cottage on Sunday (2pm).
But, ahead of that London derby, Silva has tried to turn the tables, and has sent a reminder to Arsenal and Arteta. The Cottagers took four points from Arsenal last season, with set-pieces playing their part in that return.
"Last season, we did really well in that situation, we scored twice against them in set-pieces last season, and the reality is that they didn't score [from a set-piece] against us, and let's hope we can repeat the same," Silva said at his press conference on Friday.
"No-one surprises anyone in Premier League anymore," he went on. "You know how Mikel and the Arsenal team respect everybody in this competition, they know that it's really tough to play and win games at this level.
"And, probably, they are going to be even more aware because the reality is we played two great games against them last season, at the Emirates Stadium with the draw and, of course, with the three points at Craven Cottage."
Silva is, however, aware of the challenges that face his squad when coming up against Arsenal, especially with a day's less rest than their opponents.
He added: "But I really believe that it's going to be even more difficult. Firstly, it's going to be a short [turnaround], and because they are in a great moment, definitely.
"And they are going to be more aware, probably, about our strengths, and it's going to be tougher for us. But we like this type of challenge."
The postponement of Liverpool's match with Everton on Saturday lunchtime, due to Storm Darragh's impact, gives Arsenal a chance to close the gap on their rivals at the top of the league. A win over Fulham would see them move to within four points of Arne Slot's men, who will have a game-in-hand.
